Kitchen Remodeling in Buford, Sugar Hill and Suwanee

Kitchen remodels planned, permitted, demolished and rebuilt by one builder, start to finish — in Buford, Sugar Hill and Suwanee.

One builder from the first drawing to the last cabinet pull

A kitchen remodel touches every trade: framing if a wall comes out, plumbing and electrical when the layout moves, cabinetry, counters, tile, lighting, flooring and paint. Ironwood runs all of it as one job. You deal with the builder, not a chain of contractors handing off to each other.

What we look at first

Where the light comes from and where the family actually gathers. Whether the wall between the kitchen and the living room is carrying load. Where the plumbing stack and the electrical panel are, because moving them is what moves the budget. The condition of the subfloor once the old cabinets come out. We walk the kitchen with you before we price it, and the price reflects what we found rather than what we hoped.

How the work runs

How a kitchen remodel runs with Ironwood:

  1. Planning and drawings — From a full-service design team to simple drafting, depending on the scope of work — so the new layout exists on paper before anything is torn out.
  2. Budgeting — Budgeting is a crucial part of any building project. We will guide you through the process, presenting every option to bring you to informed decisions that you can count on.
  3. Permitting — Ironwood is licensed by the state for Residential and Light Commercial Construction and fully insured; when the work needs a permit, we handle it.
  4. Demolition and construction — With a foundation of knowledge in the trades, this is where Ironwood Construction Group is head and shoulders above the competition.
  5. Interior design and finishes — We have multiple designers we work with routinely, so we can choose someone who understands your design aesthetic and will work to bring your vision to life.

Questions we are asked about this

Can you open the kitchen up to the living room?

Usually, yes. Whether the wall is load-bearing decides how, not whether — a beam sized for the span and the permit that goes with it are part of the job. We tell you at the walkthrough which kind of wall you have.

Who chooses the cabinets, counters and tile?

You do, with help. We have multiple designers we work with routinely, so we can choose someone who understands your design aesthetic and will work to bring your vision to life.

Are the kitchens in these photos remodels?

No — and we would rather say so than let you assume it. They are kitchens in new custom homes we built: Shadburn Ferry in Buford and The Ortiz Home in Sugar Hill. They show the standard of cabinetry, stone and trim we work to; a remodel gets the same standard inside the walls you already have.

How long will we be without a kitchen?

It depends on the scope and on what we find behind the old cabinets, so we give you a schedule with the budget rather than a number here. You know before demolition how long the room will be out of use, and we plan the sequence so the gap is as short as the work allows.

Where do you remodel kitchens?

Buford, Sugar Hill and Suwanee first — our office is on Riverside Road in Sugar Hill — and the surrounding towns listed in the footer.
